What's going on man?

Hello, this is your friendly neighborhood Jess, creator/writer of ParAbnormal! I was on my twitter (like usual XD) and I saw my website link that links to THIS JOURNAL and then again I was like AWWWWWWWWWW! So ParAbnormal hasn't updated since early July of this year. Will it continue anytime soon? In the new future? I hope that I can pick it back up again, but this past summer and this new semester have been killing me. But if [info]abe_kroenen can put out at least one episode a month, then why can't I? XD all my liasons fell through or totally forgot about me and I'm honestly not ready to just end ParAbnormal without a conclusion.

THERE IS A STORY/ARC THAT HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR A LONG TIME! It's not fully fleshed out but I have all the 'props' for it and I'm not going to end ParAbnormal before I at least do that one story arc. As for 'Vader & Abe' XD I honestly don't think it's going to continue although I did enjoy the episode I made. I was thinking of maybe turning it into a one panel comic that would be updated more often with a lolarious pic but I still don't know. I welcome suggestions and ideas.

If any of you out there still like ParAbnormal and want to see it continue, please let me know, comments and feedback are the lifeblood of a comic :D Something else I considered doing was to forget about producing new episodes for awhile (OHO LOOK MISSION ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED!) and to focus on making videos out of all the episodes. So far I only have the pilot and Episode #1 and they are both on my YouTube account. The problem with this is that making videos takes 3 times as long as making a regular episode and I have to manually add all the lines in thought bubbles and it takes forever to get the timing right AND on top of that I have to find music to put in the background that fits with the mood/theme and avoid copyright scandals with that too! Still, I think the videos would give ParAbnormal more and better exposure but I'm just not ready to commit to a project that big right now XD we'll see!

Not much is going on in the Hellboy fandom either, it seems to be pretty dead but a new volume of the BPRD series just recently came out and there are Hellboy library additions being made. I never did get my Johann bust even though I preordered it FOREVER AGO and I never got my BPRD ring either even thought I preordered it FOREVER ago XD and honestly at this point Hellboy is my #2 fandom (I STILL LOVE IT TO BITS OF COURSE) but anyways, I just wanted to update this and let anybody who's still watching know what's going on. :D

Sorry guys, there won't be a ParAbnormal episode this week. My liason pulled out and anything I'd do right now wouldn't be good cuz I'm stressed with so much stuff. I have two things due Friday that I absolutely HAVE to finish, then I have to do a project and presentation for Science Fiction class along with writing a Research paper for Document Design. I don't even have any artchat works to show you here since I wasn't able to go to the [info]peenlulz artchat this past Sunday. So yes, sorry, unless my other liason can do it this week then no ParAbnormal this week. BUT THERE WILL BE ONE NEXT WEEK DON'T FEAR!

I love you all <3

Happy Easter!

Hellboy blog #3

Today's blog: My first Hellboy action figure, the seed of ParAbnormal!

I don't remember the exact date that I received my Animated Hellboy action figure that came with the two pack of the Animated Films, but I do remember falling in love with him XDDD he revived my interest in action figures! Of course I'd always had some since I'd found a bunch of good deals on action figures when Suncoast was still open at my mall, I got my Koenma figure for $6 on clearance years and years ago!

The Hellboy action figure that came free with the two pack of Animated Hellboy films was a special promotion. I first saw it on Amazon.com and I actually applied for an Amazon credit card because their current promotion was the first $30 purchase on it was FREE XD and yes I did use it to buy that! Whute! I remember marveling about how heavy and well made my new animated Hellboy was. His gun even came out of the holster! He came with extra hands and a sword! The only thing that perplexed me was the fact that he had those tinyass chicken legs!

I could rant on about his chicken legs, seriously! I mean I know it's a matter of keeping true to the character design in the Hellboy films, but that's just getting ridiculous! He can't stand up on them so the only way he can stand up is to perpetually lean on his tail while you will always see him doing in ParAbnormal XD The legs by themselves have four points of articulation each, none of which help him stand up any better har har! I do love him dearly though! I freaked out a couple times when he fell off my desk! I originally had him sitting on the desk and I put him on my bed like a stuffed animal a few times too XD I wanted to take him to the premiere of Hellboy II but I was too afraid he'd get lost or something.

I also can't stand to use the stand that came with him cuz I feel bad putting that stick up his ass. I can't feel the same compassion for my Animated Abe action figure though and I'm pretty much FORCED to use the stand for my him because if I didn't he'd be falling down constantly. It seriously takes alot to keep him standing in shots. Animated Abe is the second Hellboy action figure I purchased.

All in all, the Hellboy animated figure is really awesome! I was especially delighted to see ItsJustSomeRandomGuy the guy behind the "Marvel/DC" and "Happy Hour" action figure videos using the same HB figure, only a variant! It's thanks to him, [info]cosmic_kath and [info]abe_kroenen that ParAbnormal came to life in fact! I dug out Koenma among others, because until then I'd only had my One Piece figures, Lupin bust, and chibi Koenma displayed, and after I got Animated Abe I started taking pictures of him and Hellboy randomly with my sister's camera that I had borrowed to take pictures of something else with. I made it into a little storyline and was having to much fun that I decided to make my own series. The working title for awhile was 'Uber action figure world' LOL until I racked my brain thinking of what to name it, and in a burst of inspiration I remembered that opening scene from the original Hellboy movie and I was like YES! IT'S PERFECT! I've always been a huge fan of abridged series and parody series, and I feel like ParAbnormal is my contribution to that faction of fandom and something that I really love. I'm glad I started it as it's a fun, relaxing hobby and allows me to be crazy and creative and indulge my love for action figures :DDD

Title not really relevant LOL >_>

I haven't been able to make a Hellboy blog everyday like I'd like to :( stupid school! XD but I love school! Maybe I should commit to making two or three blogs a week instead, that'd be much more manageable. I could do it like Monday/Wednesday/Friday :D And instead of putting 'TOMORROW:' I could put 'NEXT:' for the topics! Sadly, this isn't a Hellboy blog XD I'm just here to announce:

PARABNORMAL IS POSTPONED ABOUT A DAY

I procrastinated in working on my third speech (persuasive, blah!) and ended up having to cram most of the work on it Monday and Tuesday. I'm going to practice a few more times before going to bed in fact. So look for the new ParAbnormal episode late Wednesday or Thursday for everyone on the other side of the world. AND IT WILL BE KEWL. And have some new faces! ZOMG WHO COULD THEY BE? If you follow me on Twitter or read my 'The Daily Tweetfest' on my regular journal you possibly already know XD

[info]cosmic_kath I'm SO SORRY I haven't commented on your mannequin posts yet, DON'T WORRY, I'll make extra long comments to make up for it as soon as I get this damn speech done!

For now, HAVE SOME HELLBOY FANART! One of them is even PARABNORMALESQUE! I drew these with prompts for [info]peenlulz's Sunday night art chat :D I love it! So ENJOY:

FRUIT AND FOREST! )

Also, I'm looking for some more Liason episodes. I'm not quite done with my 'arc' here yet, cuz I haven't solved anything about the Matrix characters and that giant Abe head XD and then I threw in Rorschach and brought the Joker back! It's just going to get even more cracked from there too, but I would like to have another Liason episode soon! Love action figures and telling stories? COMBINE THE TWO and become a part of the AU BPRD in ParAbnormal! I'd love to have you guys so don't be shy! And tell your friends! It's panfandom so you can have ANY CHARACTERS YOU WANT regardless of how far away from Hellboy their genre is! They will have to be dealing with the strange and unusual as liasons to the BPRD tho! Of course, we could always say one of them is a close friend of one of the ParAbnormal characters and just called them up and told them a weird story XD Pretty much anything goes as long as it's rated PG-13 and the f-bombs are limited to acronyms :D Anyone who's done one before can also do one again, I just want to wait a good amount of time in between them.

SEE YOU TOMORROW!

I wasn't able to post a blog yesterday, just as well since it was April Fools and may not have been taken seriously anyway LOL some of the communities I watch on my regular journal had some joke posts going on ;D And you can also thank the novel DUNE and the website FML for eating up my time for yesterday. Whute!

TODAY'S BLOG: Seeing Hellboy II in theatres, my experiences

Yes, I've seen Hellboy II: The Golden Army more than once in theaters although considering that my cousin saw Titanic like 6 times, I don't think two times is excessive! I probably would've seen it a few more times but I can't afford to go to the movies all the time.

The first time, was on me and my sister's vacation. I took a week off from work and she had like four days off of vacation and we went to Mississippi and stayed in a really nice Casino/Resort type hotel called the Imperial Palace or the 'IP' for short XD more than anything, I REALLY wanted to go see Hellboy II on the opening night at midnight so before the trip I'd done a good bit of research and found out the city we were staying in had a Grand Theater and were doing a midnight showing of Hellboy! I bought us tickets a week in advance online and then we went pick them up the first day of our trip.

Being the obsessive fan I am, I brought stuff to dress up with. Now I'm not talking about painting myself red or blue although I would actually love to do that LOL >_> but I bought a black t-shirt with the white BPRD logo on it (see my icon) and underneath it said 'B.P.R.D.' and I'd bought some things at Hobby Lobby to make replicas of the big rosary that Hellboy wears on his belt. So I wore my BPRD shirt, khaki pants, a belt with a BPRD buckle (I got that one off eBay, it was expensive and kind've disappointing, but hey it worked!) and pretended I was a BPRD agent XDDD I didn't see anyone else dressed up but I think some people had some shirts although none were like mine. The girl who took our tickets gave me a funny look but I just grinned back because I was so damn excited!

We actually got lost on the way to the theater and it's a miracle we made it there in time at all and we had a little fight. We weren't as early as I'd hoped to be, but we got pretty decent seats and didn't have to sit in the front row breaking our necks (like we did during Star Wars episode III >_>) the placed reeked of nerd stench, but I knew that I smelled good XD HOMG I was so excited I don't know how I stayed still. I wanted to jump up and dance around. When the movie finally started I had to keep myself from squeeing. ESPECIALLY when the opening titles came on after the very first part where the Professor tells Hellboy about the Golden Army. The title theme music for Hellboy II is one of my FAVORITE SONGS and I'm like constantly humming it XD it's catchy and exciting, WHUTE! I still get warm fuzzies and a thrill of excitement when I watch them on DVD :D

We got out of the movie theater it was past 2am or so and I was like WHUUUTE just very happy. I still think the original Hellboy was the stronger film, but I adore Hellboy II!

The second time I saw Hellboy II it was back home at the regular Grand Theater we always go to. I'd gone to Best Buy the night before with my sister and I noticed they had a DVD with previews of this summer's movies including Hellboy II and The Mummy 500 (LOL sorry I can't remember what it was called) and I HAD to have it just because it was Hellboy LOL >_> in order to get it, I had to buy another DVD and that DVD came with a free movie ticket to Hellboy II! It was Meet The Fockers which I'd been wanting to see anyways cuz I heart Ben Stiller. So I buy it and get the free DVD and then I decide I'm going to go see Hellboy II after work the next day! I couldn't figure out how to get my free movie ticket cuz there was nothing in the DVD or on the DVD about it so I go to ask them at Best Buy. Turns out I'd gotten one of the regular ones WITHOUT THE SPECIAL STICKER AND STUFF INSIDE! So I had to rush home and go get it so I could exchange it and get back to work in time cuz I wanted to go to the movies right after work! Argh what a pain!

My friend Sebastian and a bunch of other people from work ended up going to the same one we did and we were all like YAY and I fangirled a bit. Beeks printed out the thing online for the Free ticket and when she met me at the theater with the printout, THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO PRINT! RARRRGH! So we ended up both paying to get any anyways XD I love Hellboy that much, hehehe! It was even better the second time around because there were less people in the theater and I could watch for subtle nuances I'd missed the second time around, squee more, and sing 'I can't smile without you' with free abandon XD I ended up buying that song off of iTunes a short while later XD

My experiences seeing Hellboy II in theaters were quite awesome! Hellboy II came out the week before The Dark Knight did and it ended up being number one in the box office that weekend, raking in about $160 million or so, I'm not sure what the cumulative number turned out to be, but yay Hellboy was number one if only for a week!

Thanks for reading!

Hey all, Jess here, and I've decided to start doing a daily Hellboy post in the tradition of David Willis ([info]shortpacked) although I won't ONLY talk about my action figures. I do that alot anyway right? Everyday, except Tuesday when the new episode of ParAbnormal posts, I'm going to blog about something Hellboy related be it the movies, characters, actors, figures, Guillermo del Toro, etc. ^_^ Yay I'm excited!

Today's blog: How I got into Hellboy

*sings* Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start!

Hellboy and it's rich characters and universe has become my main obsession as you all may have noticed. It's always in the back of my mind, is my main fandom, and I just love it and the characters SO MUCH! So, how did I get into Hellboy?

My sister and I went to see 'The Incredible Hulk' movie on one of the opening days that weekend. It had alot of fantastic trailers before the movie started, one of which was the Hellboy II trailer. I saw Nuada and I instantly thought OMG that dude is freaking COOL! I was like fascinated and then I saw that it was a SEQUEL of all things! HELLBOY? Oh I sorta remember seeing the commercials for that back in the day! Sadly, I did not see Hellboy the original 2004 movie in theaters, I think I probably dismissed it at the time as something that wouldn't interest me. Boy was I ever wrong! Well, the Hellboy II trailer was in your face and larger than life and I absolutely loved the music that they used in in it (Rammstein's 'Mein hertz brennt') so I went home and looked up the trailer on YouTube and then the official site and I watched it a couple more times XD it was freaking addicting! I think I had some extra time that weekend so after the movie me and my sister went to the video rental place down the road (which sadly, no longer exists) and rented the first movie.

I think she watched it first on her own because I had something else to do, but I watched it the next day or so in my room, and I... COMPLETELY FELL IN LOVE. I was just so in awe by how awesome the movie was that I regretted not watching it before then. I was like HOW COULD SOMETHING THIS AMAZING EXIST AND ME NOT HAVE SEEN IT? After that, I was hooked, I Googled the hell (PUN NOT INTENDED LOL) out of Hellboy and even read some of the online comics that were available on the Dark Horse website. I went out and bought a copy of the Hellboy movie of my very own like the very next day and watched it again! AND MANY MORE TIMES! I soon found out that there were alot more things in Hellboy like the animated movies! I bought them in a pack that came with a free Gentle Giant Animated Hellboy figure, some of you might recognize him XD and I also bought the first 3 comic books although I don't remember when. (and became dismayed when the cover came off after one or two readings WHAT!) I think I actually bought the 'Hellboy Companion' book first. I got it from Barnes & Noble.

I went on a purchasing spree, getting my hands on everything Hellboy I could, including a BPRD t-shirt to wear to the upcoming movie (that experience will be a separate blog XD). I practically LIVED on the Hellboy II website until the movie finally came out and I just couldn't get enough XD I made icons, listened to the music on the site, and watched the trailers again. Everything Hellboy makes me squee XD I currently have ALOT of Hellboy merchandise and I can't wait to get more >_> I'm addicted! So, I've been a fan since last year from the beginning of summer. This June, I believe, will be my Hellboyversary! :D

And now, some pictures I drew in an artchat with prompts last night that are Hellboy themed:

IT'S A TOOTHBRUSH DANGIT! )

THANKS FOR LOOKING IF YOU DID! I'm not an artist, but I do enjoy drawing :D

Did you guys know that my subject for this post is actually the title of a novel by Ray Bradbury? I know this because I read Fahrenheit 451 for scifi class this semester and I went to look up his other books and saw that one. ANYWAYS THAT'S OFF TOPIC!

As you may have noticed, or not LOL, ParAbnormal has been delayed this week! I had several issues, mainly with the internet at home and then having a bunch of things that were due for school and exhaustion that had to do with school as well keeping me from making and posting ParAbnormal this week.

I won't have the internet back until Friday night at the soonest, and that's if the modem/wireless router in one that Charter is sending works correctly in a timely manner.

I was thinking of just postponing ParAbnormal until this coming Tuesday, as I'm already behind a few days now throwing off my schedule. I also have a something new I'm really dying to show off but XD alas! So right now that does sound like the best idea. I apologize for having no episode this week as you can see a good bit of it was due to circumstances beyond my control. I also completely forgot about the monthly contest again! D'OH! That's ok I was thinking of not doing the monthly contest anymore because there is only about 2% participation anyway.

TL;DR - ParAbnormal is postponed this week due to technical difficulties. Stay tuned for the new episode next week and there will be no contest this month either and possibly not ever again.

PS: I'm ALWAYS taking applications for liason episodes so anyone who is interested please comment here, direct message me, tweet me, message me on my regular account or hell ANYWHERE and I would love to work with you! Until next week, adieu!

I hope you all enjoyed the Rick Roll XD and I'm not sure how many of you actually saw the REAL episode 30 because I completely forgot how the whole f-list thing works with dates! You see, I actually had it complete on Tuesday night and I posted it as a PRIVATE entry for a day or two and then I made it public, so now I'm like OH SNAP no wonder no one has seen it, since I posted it on the same day it's all the way back there and it won't pop up as NEW on friends lists! So yeah here's a link to the real episode guys!!! Enjoy!
